Group splits are the one exception — they're encrypted on your phone and relayed to your friend through a server we operate but cannot read. AI features (Ask Ruply, Money Story, voice logging, receipt & statement scan) send only what a request needs — your question, an image, or an anonymised summary — through a stateless proxy that doesn't retain it; your full expense history, name, and identity are never sent. You sign in with Apple; Ruply stores your Apple identifier (and, on first grant, your name and email) hashed, and uses it only to sync subscriptions, household, and splits — there's no Ruply account database.
